Privacy and contact

Schwarzer Peter is a private hobby project. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and it keeps as little about you as it can.

What stays in your browser

The site saves a few things in your browser’s local storage, so you don’t have to enter them again:

  • the language you chose,
  • the name you last played under, and your practice settings,
  • for each online room you join, a random code that gets you back to your seat after a reload.

There are no cookies. You can remove all of this at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

What the game server keeps

When you play online, the name you type and the state of the game are kept on the game server while the room is in use. A room is deleted automatically 30 minutes after everyone has left. Quick match only remembers which table is filling up and how many seats it has handed out, not who sat down. Your name is only shown to the players at your table.

Who else is involved

The website is hosted by Vercel, and the game server runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the service safe. These logs are theirs; this project doesn’t collect or store them. Fonts and images come from this site itself, so no other services are contacted.

For parents

  • There is no chat. Players can only send six fixed emotes, like a grin or a gasp.
  • There are no accounts, no ads and nothing to buy.
  • The only thing other players see is the name your child types in. A first name or a nickname is enough.
  • Online, your child plays either with people you shared a room link with, or with other players at an open quick-match table. Practice games against bots stay entirely in the browser.
